For my master's research I attended Sonoma State University and studied under Dan Crocker. I studied glucose metabolism in fasting and lactating northern elephant seals. For my PhD research I am hoping to look more indepth at lactation physiology in pinnipeds, and complement that with an ecological perspective. I am interested in how the ocean environment in which females forage impacts the physiology of lactation. The TOPP research is a perfect way to gather this data. I will be participating in both northern elephant seal and California sea lion research.
