Researcher Information

Adam has been a staff biologist with PRBO Conservation Science since 1999. Initially researching seabird ecology, Adam spent four years on Vandenberg Air Force Base studying the relationship between breeding seabirds and their prey, within Southern California Bight. His interest in marine biology has also led Adam to the Caribbean where, with his wife, they initiated a non-profit conservation group studying, among other things, Caribbean seabird ecology.
Adam has been studying white sharks on Southeast Farallon Island since 2000. His work has been instrumental in the creation of the island’s white shark catalogue, a photo and video-based data set of white sharks at the Farallons. Adam has also worked closely with Stanford University, tracking white sharks marked with satellite tags at the Farallons, throughout the Pacific.
