Seal Team Two, Part 2 - Arrival in Antartica
Posted May 17th, 2007 by DanielCrocker
The seal crew arrived yesterday at Palmer Station and met up with Gitte McDonald. We spent the day reviewing procedures, working on equipment and getting oriented to the station.
The Gould left early this morning to take the fish group out to collect more animals. We'll spend today getting checked out on the zodiacs so we can explore the area and look for the opportune seal. The weather was beautiful and clear yesterday but the wind has picked up considerably today. Pending success of the fishing expedition, we plan to head back out on Sunday to catch seals. Sorry, no pictures today until our computers come back from security.
